Contact Me

I'm a meteorologist who is passionate about two things: 1) severe weather (tornadoes, thunderstorms, oh my!) and 2) teaching students about the weather. I primarily teach upper-level courses for meteorology majors, including atmospheric dynamics and computer programming. I also conduct pedagogical research related to teaching both of those courses, focusing on active learning approaches that enhance student learning. Pedagogical research in the atmospheric sciences is largely lacking (though a growing contingent is out there!) and so I'm really open to collaborations with education researchers and others to help move the discipline in a positive direction of encouraging more faculty to use pedagogical methods supported by research and better understanding which approaches are most effective in the atmospheric sciences.
